Tuan Tanah Kedawung

Set in the era of Dutch colonialism, Landlord Kedawung is devastated by his first wife’s death. But apparently, her death is something that the second wife, Zubaedah, has been waiting for. Then Zubaedah kills Kedawung by poisoning him with help of Samirun and Mirta, her child from her affair with Samirun that she claims is Kedawung’s child. To take over all Kedawung’s wealth, she asks their bodyguard, Sarkawi, to kill Giran, Kedawung’s son. The plan fails and she comes up with another plan. She tells Giran that his late father left her a message that Giran was to go to Borneo to take care of their plantation there. After Giran leaves, she keeps searching for the box where important documents are kept. But the box is with Ratna, Giran’s wife. To get it, Zubaedah has to deal with Samolo and Nyi Londe, who have been faithfully protecting Ratna and her child. In the end, the quest for the box leaves Samolo and herself blind, Mirta handicapped and Samirun and Sarkawi dead. When Giran returns, he sees Zubaedah and Mirta, who lie about what has happened. Giran believes them and becomes suspicious of Ratna and Samolo. Fortunately, Nyi Londe, who has been taking care of him since he was a child, reveals the truth.
