Synopsis

 

(literal translation of Titienku Sayang: Titien My Dear)
Because his wife cannot bear a child, Yusuf (Rully Harsono) commits adultery with Mila (Ida Abdi), and has a child from her as a result. When Yanti (Mila Karmila), his wife, finds out, she adopts the child, Titien (Astri Ivo), and gives Mila the right to live in her house on condition that she agrees to be the aunt of the child instead. For an unclear reason, Titien despises Mila, and one day, because of a scandal, Mila decides to run away to her mother’s (Fifi Young) house in Pontianak. Titien then finds out the truth about her birth and goes after her real mother. Mila refuses to confess to the fact and instead leaves Titien to sleep on the floor in front of her mother’s room. Yusuf and Yanti also come to apologise to her but it is too late and Mila dies.

Note

Supervising director is Shing Kim Chuan from Hongkong. The Deppen Film Directorate suspended the film producer for a time for using Hongkong workers in the production.
