Senyummu Senyumku

(title translation: Your Smile My Smile)

Herman meets Yati in the village and persuades her to go to the city. Mrs. Suryo makes Yati a housekeeper after she helps the noble Javanese woman with her purchases. Yati’s beauty makes Gunarto, the oldest son of Suryo, fall in love, although he is betrothed to Ratna, a psychology graduate. Yati accepts Gunarto’s love. Herman who attends the birthday party of Gunarto’s sister, Narti, meets again with Yati and threatens her. Ratna also dislikes her sensing that her boyfriend is stolen. Then Yati secretly leaves and wanders aimlessly and is contemplating suicide on a bridge. By chance, Herman passes by and gives Yati a lift in his car and tries to fulfil his past intention of raping her. Yati struggles and the car crashes into a tree. Herman is killed. Yati is safe and meets again with Gunarto, who comes to the hospital, after hearing the news from his sister, who works in the same office with Herman.
