Si Janda Kembang

Harjo Gembur (Hardjo Muljo), a truck driver, is dating Mariam (Titiek Sandhora), a young widow who owns an eatery. Mariam had a misfortune during her wedding ceremony, when her husband died from shock at the sound of loud firecrackers, meant to celebrate the wedding. Kadir (Bambang Irawan), who has always liked Mariam but is always rejected by her, then spreads gossip about them through Parmin (S Bagio), a vagrant. Kadir’s gossip is about Mariam and Harjo, but Parmin mistakes Harjo Gembur for Harjo Lukito (Frans Daromez), another truck driver who happens to be liked by a girl in another eatery. Harjo Lukito’s wife then becomes furious and confronts Mariam who knows nothing. In turn, an angry Mariam tells off Harjo Gembur, so he decides to kill himself on a rail track. But he chooses the wrong rail, which is not passed by a train. The misunderstanding finally ends when Harjo Lukito takes his wife to Mariam’s eatery, where Harjo Gembur also comes, after his failed suicide attempt.
