Ranjang Siang Ranjang Malam

(title translation: Day Bed, Night Bed)

Karno and Dina, grow up in a large fisherman village, and have carried on an affair till she is pregnant. Embarrassed, they leave for the city. Kamo works as a truck driver and Dina becomes a tailor. Bad luck befalls them as Karno hits a man accidentally and goes to prison, while their baby needs special care after a premature birth. Then Dina falls into the trap of Mrs. Syam, a brothel madam. Karno sees a change in Dina until he no longer wants her to visit him. Dina is frustrated and becomes an alcoholic until she meets Trisno, who rescues her. Karno escapes from prison and destroys Mrs. Syam’s operation, and begs Trisno to take care of Dina.
