Susy (Faradilla Sandy) breaks up with her boyfriend Sumarli (Tyas Wahono), whose mother dislikes her and is always trying to split them up, after she suffers an accident. Susy then marries a university classmate, Oskar (Bagus Santoso). Susy, who studied pedagogy in college, gets a job as a teacher, while Oskar looks for a job. Once he gets a job, tragedy strikes again. Oskar is mistaken for a pickpocket in a crowded public place and is beaten to death by a mob. Around the same time, Sumarli’s wife also dies. They meet each other again at the cemetery. Sumarli and Susy then decide to marry and to raise their children from their previous marriages together. Sumarli’s two children misbehave constantly, especially since their grandmother, who never liked Susy from the outset, encourages their bad behavior. This situation peaks to disaster when Sumarli’s son starts their car, which then runs over and kills Susy’s child. Around the same time, the grandmother also dies after being bitten by a snake that Sumarli’s children bought to set loose on Susy. These tragedies make Sumarli’s children aware of their mistake and they make peace with and live harmoniously with their stepmother.
