Siti, who is blind, must bear all suffering. With her mother’s debts to Soleh, she also has to suffer being raped by Soleh. Dullah, a former criminal who is penitent after falling in love with Siti, is forced to rob, since he needs to return the goods he had lost. He is shot and killed and before he dies, his corneas are given for Siti, who can then see again. With many crying scenes, this was a tearjerker all the way through.
