Rukmini who has just started her second year of high school, in Jakarta, goes to visit her mother, Nursanty. But she is ignored as her mother only thinks about drinking and men. There, Rukmini is raped by her mother’s boyfriend, who is also her future stepfather, Hengky. So she returns to Jakarta in distress, as she is pregnant. The maternity doctor who delivers the child, adopts her baby. To make a living, Rukmini starts to be managed by a pimp from Klub 69. She becomes a bargirl and changes her name to Monalisa. Nursanty finally feels remorse, and finds her, but Rukmini is no longer willing to acknowledge her. Nursanty then goes looking for Hengky and murders him, while Rukmini becomes seriously ill with cervical cancer, and repents.
