Perempuan dalam Pasungan

(title translation: Woman in Stocks)

Told from the perspective of a journalist who tries to get an exclusive story, we meet Fitria, a girl who receives excessive affection from her father, the village headman, Prawiro and her mother. She grows up to be an obedient girl, rather shy who doesn’t dare to show her feelings. She is different from her friend Marni, who is also attracted to Andi, an alumni in their university. Andi chooses Fitria and they move to Jakarta. When Marni works in Jakarta, she stays over at the house of Andi and Fitria. The closeness between Andi and Marni is just like old times. Fitria is jealous and secretly asks Prasetyo, also a friend from university, for help. Then Marni gets sick and dies. Fitria is ridden with guilt until she loses her mind and has to be controlled by her own parents.
