Romi has a problem with his girlfriend, Juli. The problem is caused by Juli’s father, a wealthy farmer who does not trust Romi due to his foreign upbringing. Romi’s grandparents have also matched him to a girl from Solo but his heart is set on Juli. The rich farmer’s dislike increases when he catches Romi and Juli “naked in the prairie”. Even Basuki is scolded because of this and this prompts Basuki to write a testament that curses Romi if he ever marries Juli. Her parents’ soften when the doctor diagnoses Juli with leukemia. She has only one more month to live. So the marriage takes place even though Juli’s death is inevitable. On her last night, Romi departs after saying that they will meet each other again soon.
