Prabu Siliwangi

The crown prince, Mundingwangi, becomes king but because he is too young, Prabu Anggalarang, King of Pakuan Pajajaran, gives temporary control to Tarba, a son of a concubine, who is advised by the vice regent, Garbamenak, his younger sibling. Garbamenak then colludes with Tarba so that the throne does not fall to Mundingwangi. But their attempts to eliminate Mundingwangi always fail, since Ratu Siluman (Queen of Spirits) and her servants, whom he once defeated, always helps him. When Pajajaran is attacked by another kingdom, Tarba is killed. But Mundingwangi is still considered too young, even though he has defeated the king of the attacking kingdom. Garbamenak’s last attempt is to poison Mundingwangi. This time Ratu Siluman does not show up. Mundingwangi’s magic powers saves him but he loses his memory and his skin turns black. He is then sold as a slave to the Sindangkasih people and then meets the king, Labuan. The daughter of Labuan, Nyi Ambetkasih, sees the ring that the black slave wears and falls in love with him. She thinks that the black slave is a descendent of Lutung Kasarung (a legendary monkey man warrior). The king agrees to her daughter’s wish only if the slave can eliminate the pirate who is terrorising the region. When a pirate wounds him, the poison seeps out of Mundingwangi’s body, and he returns to normal. Then Mundingwangi becomes the king of Sindangkasih, and has the title, Prabu Siliwangi. When Pajajaran is attacked again, Siliwangi helps and kills the king of the attacking kingdom, Lembu Wulung. Garbamenak then apologises to him and surrenders the throne of Pajajaran. Prabu Siliwangi forgives him and retains him as vice regent.
