Badrani, a shaman, knows that Alisa, the daughter-in-law of Mr. and Ms. Permana, is a "kuntilanak" (a female ghost). To protect the family’s honour, Badrani reveals Alisa’s identity. The nail that is stuck in her head is taken out, returning her to her original form. Alisa’s husband resents his parents’ action, takes away his child but tragically falls into a ravine and dies. The child, Melisa, grows up a beautiful adult. Through Melisa, Alisa takes revenge on the people who exposed her. Subsequently, Mr. and Ms. Permana are killed. Melisa becomes a model and makes the photographer, Tommy, to fall in love with her. Seeing this relationship, Tommy’s old girlfriend, threatens to hang herself. A supernatural force then makes her hang herself and she dies. The family’s friend, Enny, then fights back, by seeking the help of Badrani. Then a fight with the "kuntilanak" ensues, with Badrani involved. After defeating her enemies, Alisa takes Melisa back to the spirit world, even though she wants to stay with Tommy.
