Set against the background of transmigration issues, Hartono is the son of a poor farmer and friends with Ningsih since childhood. Ningsih’s father, Rd Bei Suroyudo, is rich, of nobility and very conservative so he does not want Hartono as a son-in-law. Bambang, the son of a wealthy businessman, is also attracted to Ningsih. As he is a reckless man, Ningsih refuses him. Bambang does not give up, and even gets his father, Umbaran to help. Aware of his low social status, Hartono chooses to migrate to Borneo. Near to the wedding of Bambang and Ningsih, the police come to arrest Bambang for drug dealing so he escapes. Ningsih then goes to Borneo to see Hartono. Bambang follows and then fights with Hartono. Police then finally arrest Bambang and Suroyudo goes to meet Hartono’s parents to discuss the future of their children.
