Piso Surit

Wita, a college student, comes to Tanah Karo to do cultural research. As a mean of transport, she rents a horse from Pande, a naive old man who has been dreaming of owning a horse-carriage. They meet each other often and he even teaches her the “Piso Surit” song. Soon Pande falls in love with her and his passion is so intense that he attempts to seduce her. Fortunately, she brings him back to reality and Pande is so ashamed of himself that he attempts to commit suicide. Wita gets him to return and forgives him. When she leaves Tanah Karo to return to the city, she meets Pande, who gives her a Karo shawl as a souvenir.
