Nyi Mas Gandasari

In a legend from Cirebon, there is a princess, Nyi Mas Gandasari, who is born out of a long meditation of Ki Gendeng Selapandan. Selapandan then puts the princess in the care of Sunan Gunung Jati to be taught religion and mystical powers. As she is beautiful and wise, Nyi Mas Gandasari has many suitors asking for her hand in marriage. As she is very powerful, her condition is that she will only marry a man who can defeat her mystical power. Nobody succeeds until Syarif Syam arrives from Syria to learn from Sunan Gunung Jati. He manages to defeat Nyi Mas Gandasari and marries her.
