Menanti Kasih

(title translation: Waiting for Love)

Husni finds out, in his final year of medical study, that Haji Rachman is covering his school expenses. As an exchange, he has to marry the Haji's daughter, Latifah. Husni feels that he is being sold, but to save his mother's face, he fulfils his promise. He “delegates” someone to stand in for his wedding. In Jakarta, Husni works as a doctor; he wants to return his “debt” as well as Latifah to Haji Rachman. Latifah turns out to be an educated girl. She works as a nurse who assists Dr. Osman Said, Husni's colleague. Husni is attracted to Latifah, who by now, is using another name. Later, he is informed that the girl of his dream is none other than his own wife.
