La Tando di Toradja

La Tando, the ugly prince from Bugis, finds a magical talisman in the river during his journey. Two of his guards who try to grab it are dead but La Tando is spared the same fate. The magic object is an orange containing a pinch of a very long hair belonging to a princess living upstream, at the Minanga village. La Tando wishes to propose to the princess and faces many obstacles before finally meeting her, Princess Landorundum. The princess however is already engaged to a nobleman in Toraja, Palaka. But La Tando does not give up. Later when the princess picks a mango which was created by La Tando, the customary law has it that she now belongs to La Tando. Palaka does not accept this and declares war against the powerful La Tando. Palaka dies in the process and La Tando brings the princess home as his wife. The film highlights the scenic nature of Toraja.
