Saba and his school mates have to prepare a proper scout outfit for the anniversary of Indonesia’s independence. For Saba, this is a very difficult matter, as he has to choose either to sell his bike or a camera gift from his uncle. Then he receives an order of photo ID from the ladies of PKK (Pemberdayaan Kesejahteraan Keluarga aka Empowerment for Family Welfare). From this work, he manages to buy a new uniform. Saba has four best friends, Lodan, Danu, Jupri, and Ripin. They agree to make slingshots but Saba is the only one who is not ready because he runs out of leather. So when the Friday prayer takes place, Saba takes one shoe and cuts the leather for a slingshot. Apparently, Mr Dahlan owns the shoe and he is angry for losing one of the shoes so he throws away the other one. In a slingshot match, Mr. Dahlan’s chickens become the target. They find Mr. Dahlan’s discarded shoe and give it to Mr. Wira who has a disabled leg, wounded during the fight against the Dutch. Mr. Wira is very moved when he receives the shoe from Saba and his friends. He wears the shoe during the memorial service of Indonesia’s independence.
