Love Story

Together since childhood, Ranti and Galih grow up to love each other. However, the local authority prohibits Galina and Ranti to marry. They believe that marriage between those living in Galih and Ranti’s village, which are separated by a river, will end in disaster. The couple is separated when Galih’s family moves to town. For years, Ranti waits for Galih’s return by teaching, accompanied by Pengkor. Finally, Galih returns and wants to build a school for Ranti. But the villagers ostracize them after Galih proposes to Ranti. Galih begins the school’s construction while Ranti’s father holds her captive for fear of the curse. Galih falls ill but continues to struggle. Finally, the school is built and their love manages to change the narrow view prohibiting the two hearts to be united.
