Kisah Cinta Rojali dan Zuleha

(title translation: The Love Story of Rojali and Zuleha)

Rojali, whose real name is Rajauli, is the son of a widow who owns a traditional food stall. He falls in love with Zuleha, the daughter of his rich neighbour. Their parents oppose their relationship. Zuleha’s father was a friend of Rojali’s late father during the war. Zuleha’s father currently lives in Rojali’s house for free. He becomes rich through illegitimate ways, and he even tries to take ownership of the land of Rojali’s mother, when she misplaces the land deeds. So when she knows that Rojali is in love with Zuleha; the mother decides to invite Saloma, a popular dangdut singer. The attempt fails but the original land deeds are then found. Hence, Zuleha’s family has to leave, as Rojali’s mother is the rightful owner of the land. Zuleha decides to break off the relationship as she chooses to put her family ahead of herself. Rojali returns to his mother. Director Nya Abbas Akup successfully presents comedy mixed with irony and reveals several social issues through a love story.
