Hadi is assigned to head a coal company in Ombilin. He feels uncertain since both his girlfriend and her parents oppose the idea. Ombilin is also considered a place for outcasts. He finally decides to go to Ombilin and he lies to his girlfriend that he will only leave for one month. Suddenly, his girlfriend shows up to persuade him to quit his job. But Hadi chooses to continue working and finally she accepts it.
