The rich Rd Mangundiputro ceases his daughter, Sutiadi's education, as he thinks that a woman’s place is in the kitchen. After his wife passes away, Mangundiputro remarries, this time with Srihati. Srihati inherits his entire property when he dies. But Srihati gives it away to the farmers who have been receiving low wages. This way, the farmers can save money to buy their own land.
