Karminem

The widow and singer Karminem is bored of life in the city and returns to the village. But then, she is faced with the disapproval of the village women who do not like her profession. They stop their children who want to learn singing from her. But the children persevere in learning from her and they then perform at the village party. The parents are touched and many tokens of gratitude are given to Karminem. The comedians from the Surya Group who, seen in the film Inem Pelayan Seksi, are also featured but they get too little screen time to perform their jokes, especially Jalal. Jalal, in the plot, is interested in Karminem’s sister, while Herry Koko is interested in Karminem. Both of them assume that they are interested in the same person, which creates a comedic misunderstanding. Director Nya Abbas Akup is only aiming for comedy in this film, though some satirical moments can be seen, for example, people learning how to sing to get rich; how some people sing with contorted lips to look serious; and Karminem doing martial arts like a heroine in a Mandarin film.
