Jakarta 1955. Danti (Della Dartyan), a librarian, and Bayu (Adipati Dolken), a writer, live in the same boarding house with their respective partners. Both of them are often left by their partners to become close because of their similarity of loneliness. When Danti decides to keep her distance from Bayu, she finds out that her husband, Sena (Revaldo), a party activist, has a relationship with Lastri (Carmela van der Kruk), a singer, and Bayu's wife.
