Gaya Merayu

(title translation: Wooing Style)

Five directors living lives of luxury fall in love with the same girl, Elvy. Anen, a cigarette seller in front of Elvy’s house, and Siti, Elvy’s housemaid, work together in giving out information and offering services while extorting money from the directors. But they are all given the same information so they always arrive at the same time and compete with each other in wooing Elvy. Finally, they unite to seduce Elvy while she is on a picnic at Bidadari island. The suspicious wives also get together and follow their husbands. A typical comedy from the Srimulat repertoire that loses most of its humour in the film version. However, all the cast members are from the Srimulat group and also the traditional lenong (Betawi theatre) players.
