Effendi is killed. Mansyur, Rusmini, and Saroni are questioned by the police. Rusmini tells the story:

Mansyur and his wife, Rusmini, could not afford the school of their two children, Saroni and Tini. Saroni who has defective leg, trying to support himself.

One day Mansyur received a letter from his old friend, Erna, the daughter of a wealthy family. The letter led to disputes between Mansyur and his wife and they divorced. Halim, Rusmini’s friend, who has long been a passion for Rusmini, gave her a job at his restaurant. Meanwhile Mansyur stole Rp 500 from his office to buy a wooden leg for Saroni. He went to jail. When heard it, Erna’s parents who think Mansyur is a honest man, told Erna to marry Mansyur when he was out from prison.

In restaurant, Rusmini acquainted with Effendi, a Don Juan. The acquaintanceship became  romance. It turned out that Effendi also flirted with Tini. Quarrel between the mother and daughter errupted. Saroni could not accept the chaos in his family and decided to kill Effendi. Rusmini had the same opinion. Likewise Mansyur and Tini.
