Diantara Anggrek Berbunga

(title translation: Amid the Blooming Orchids)

Hendra refuses to marry the rich girl chosen by his parents, so he goes to Jakarta to find work. He then meets and has a relationship with Mila. But as Mila’s parents are against their relationship, they part ways after promising to be loyal to each other. Mila breaks her promise when she meets Dany, and is encouraged by her friend, Ratna. Meanwhile, Hendra suddenly gets an inheritance from his uncle and builds a villa to realise his promise to Mila. He is disappointed when he finds that Mila is now married to someone else, Dany, who is a leech, a gambler and a playboy, and squanders money to have fun with other girls. Once the money is gone, Dany runs away abroad, leaving Mila to return to her hometown to give birth. It turns out that her parents’ house is also gone. Hendra asks her to come back, but she runs away out of shame and leaves her baby in Hendra’s front yard. Intending to commit suicide, Hendra manages to save her.
