Benyamin Raja Lenong

Benyamin works in a laundromat but he is also a lenong (a type of traditional theater style) actor. Benyamin and Mimin are neighbours. She is a widow who lives with her younger sister, Aida. Benyamin’s theatre activities are very noisy and they often quarrel, although they always make up in the end. Meanwhile, Benyamin falls in love with Ellya, a spinster and daughter of Mr. Hamid who is also his landlord. Mr. Hamid disapproves of their relationship because he thinks theater actors are from the lower class. But when Mr. Hamid sees Mimin, he is attracted to her so Benyamin uses this opportunity to soften Mr. Hamid’s heart.
