Banteng Mataram

Ki Ageng Mangir Wanabaya, the grandson of King Brawijaya, attempts to rebuild the glory of Majapahit, as he owns the powerful heritage spear, Baru Klinting. Tumenggung Joropati of Mataram learns of the plan and fears Mangir’s forces. So Pembayun, the daughter of the king himself, is sent as a dancer to bait Mangir. The dance troupe successfully performs before Mangir, and Pembayun manages to attract his attention. They fall in love with each other then, though it is difficult for Pembayun, for her lover is the enemy of her own father, Panembahan Senopati. Pembayun finally reveals her secret to Mangir and asks for forgiveness as she surrenders to him. Mangir is then convinced to go to Mataram. Joropati, who has been hiding his love for Pembayun, attempts to kill Mangir. After Mangir surrenders his Kris and his powerful spear, an unequal duel breaks out. Both of them are killed in front of the palace of Mataram, as Mangir kneels down before Panembahan Senopati. Then the heritage spear of Baru Klinting is successfully taken over as an heirloom of Mataram.
