(title translation: Give Me Time)

Mario, an Ambonese youth, knows only the language of violence. Seeing his brother beaten, he exacts revenge on the whole gang single-handedly. When his sister is brought for a date on the beach, he beats up his sister’s boyfriend and sets the man’s car on fire. However, his biggest problem is his father, Pieter Matulessy, who raises him ruthlessly without showing any compassion at all. Mario is constantly rebelling and his father dislikes him more since he does nothing outside home besides fighting. His acquaintance with Susan, a mixed Javanese girl, actually begins to change his attitude, as Susan prefers to obey her parents. But then they pair her off with Broto, a man who made another girl pregnant. The problems are increasing as his father leaves home after a big fight with Mario. Mario must replace the burnt car. Herman, his sister’s boyfriend whose car is burnt, and his men, gang up on Mario and stab him. This event shocks everyone and changes all the aggressive attitudes. There is a subtle critique towards the ethnic culture of Maluku, which becomes the background of the story, with some comparison with the culture of Java, Batak, Padang, etc.
