Synopsis
Portraying the city of Jakarta, it is about the family of Partoyo, an executive director of a large company, who neglects his family. On his 20th wedding anniversary, he is still busy at work and chasing after his beautiful secretary. His son is involved in street racing and ensnared into heavy gambling. He robs to pay his debts and later on is arrested and put on trial. Meanwhile, his daughter runs off with a pop star. Then there is a journalist who upholds moral values, yet works for a newspaper that shows half-naked pictures. His line of work becomes the source of conflict with his wife. But he follows each and every move of the Partoyo family. There is also a Muslim cleric who tries to change the situation through his daily tasks. Finally, in a trial scene, the judge delivers a sermon about Jakarta’s social problems that affect the lives of the Partoyo family.
