Synopsis
Arnold, a young boy, is captivated by a weeping girl, who arrives at the pier in West Papua. He continues stalking the girl, causing jealousy in his best friend, Sonya. The story is told within the context of the political conflict in West Papua, an Indonesian province, that seeks independence. Arnold’s father is one of the activists but the girl remains a mystery until the film ends, and her identity remains unknown to the audience.
Note
The scenes were shot digitally then transferred to 35mm format. The film is based on a short story by Laslo Kamondy entitled, "Sang Mahasiswa dan Sang Wanita (The College Guy and the Woman)". This film received a "special mention" from Network for Promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC) at the International Forum of Berlinale 2003.
